The team of GRReporter already has its first PhD! Our colleague Desislava Yordanova, editor of the News from Bulgaria in Greek, brilliantly defended yesterday a thesis on "Comparative analysis of the system of articles in the Bulgarian and Greek languages". She has found out in her research work, with which she was dealing for years, that the usage of the definite and indefinite articles in the Greek language is much wider than in Bulgarian because a large number of compulsory usages of these article forms, which correspond to the Bulgarian indefinite article, have been registered in the Greek language. These observations could be used to compile both a Greek language textbooks for Bulgarian learners of the language and appropriate exercises designed to present the correct usage of Greek articles.
Desislava Yordanova is a teacher of Modern Greek language at the South-West University "Neofit Rilski" in Blagoevgrad and graduated from "St. Cyril and St. Methodius " University of Veliko Tarnovo. She has been part of the GRReporter’s team since 2010.
