Athens governor Georgios Sgouros issued an order to close the first schools, because of swine flu infected children. The first school is in Melisia and the infected students are from first and second grade and the second is in Haydari, where students from the first grade got infected. The measure was applied because over the weekend medical authorities registered 22 cases of the new flu. Right now epidemiologists are in both schools, where they are talking to students, parents and teachers, in order to make clear what measures should be taken to prevent the new virus. The schools will remain closed for five days, including Friday.

The Ministry of Health made a statement that 4 new cases of H1N1 virus infected tudents were registered in Haidari. They got the virus from their classmates and the total number of infected student in Haydari is 9. In Melisia the new sick students are 3 and all of them got the virus in school. The total number of infected students there is 13. The closing of the schools is done based on instructions from the WHO, assure the Greek authorities.
