With a score of 1-0 finished the match between the football teams of Panathinaikos and PAOK, played at the OAKA stadium in Athens. Although due to a punishment they played without audience the greens were able to pull themselves together and finally showed their true character. That fact that the club president Nicolas Pateras was recently following closely their practices in the facility had its impact. Just like the finger that he waved in case that the players failed. With a strict, yet mentoring approach he found a way to activate them. And here they were, that night reminding about the game they played last season. A sight, which all we had forgotten...

The hosts started the game dynamically. The guests, however, since the first minutes showed that tonight they will also fight. They played in offense and seriously threatened the goal post of Panathinaikos in the 11th minute. Veyrinya decided to compete with Dzorvas, but the latter successfully cleared his territory. The respond came during the 12th minute when Karagounis tried to threaten Kresic. Then followed another chance for the greens. During the 19th minute Cisse made a strong kick, but Kresic was again on the line... The goal came in the 20th minute from a fantastic shot of Loukas Vyntra. A player who succeeds in any situation to be useful for his team. A new attempt for a goal made Cisse during the 28th minute. He took the ball from a great pas by Karagounis, but then it hit the crossbar. The persistent pursuit of a second goal continued. New, very good chance for this there was during the 34th minute when again Cisse threatened the goal post of PAOK, but the goalkeeper remove the ball.

The guests attacked again. Contreras tried to intimidate Dzorvas, but the player Vyntra again reminded about himself and stopped the ball with his body. During the 37th minute the goal keeper of the greens was threatened also by Muslimovich. Shortly before the end of the halftime the greens lost another good chance to score. Vyntra passed the ball to Cisse almost ready to score, but again Kresic had the final word.

During the 75 th minute the goal post of Panathinaikos was attacked by Vieirinha. 9 minutes later Cisse again found himself in position to score but the goalkeeper saved the ball again.

The dramatic attempts of both teams to score lasted literally until the last minutes of the game. And while in the second half the guests were the ones who ruled over the ball they never made it to score a goal. They failed to keep the pace of the hosts even during the 86th minute. Fotakis attacked the goal post of Dzorvas but the goalkeeper remove the ball and the match ended 1-0.
