In recent days, we have observed a change in the policy of the media that already openly support SYRIZA. How would you explain this? Has this phenomenon occurred in previous election races?
Of course, it has. It is quite common for the media in Greece to gather around power rather than to control it. From the moment that the victory of SYRIZA is expected it has been obvious that some media have been rushing to take their place in the retinue of the party.
What is your forecast of the election results?
As I have said, I think that public opinion is like moving sand. There are many "underground" social currents and it is difficult to make a reliable forecast. The result can range from an absolute majority of SYRIZA to a narrow victory of New Democracy, not excluding the possibility of other elections if it is impossible to form a cabinet.
The bad thing is that regardless of the results, logic does not allow us to be optimistic. Our political elites continue to deal only with ensuring their presence in the political arena instead of telling the truth to the Greek people and making the necessary reforms that can help us out of the crisis in which we are living.
