Greece will host the girls synchronized swimming World Cup in 2012. The decision of this important sporting event took FINA, which recently awarded the Greek State and the organization of the youth water polo World Cup in 2011. Particularly pleased by the decision of FINA is the President of swimming Federation of Greece Dimitris Diatesopoulos. As informed www.sport.gr Diatesopoulos believes that organizing the synchronized swimming world championship in Greece, will attract world sports organizations, which could significantly support the water sports in the country. He also expressed his belief that, during the water polo World Cup in 2011 and during the synchronized swimming World Cup in 2012 the national Greek teams will be able to demonstrate a sufficiently high level, which forecasts reliable future for both sports. According to Diatesopulos goal of the federation is to succeed in organizing the sport events as successful as the European water polo championships for juniors were organized in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Also the goal of organizers is to avoid any possible bottlenecks in the budget of the Federation and the General Secretariat of Sports.

Greece will also be hosting the first round of the finals in women's water polo - World League. The sport events, which will take place on June 9 and 13 in the capital are filling the Greek national team with hopes for victory, as the ability to compete on its own ground will increase chances for victory.
