4-year-old Ani Borisova is still missing three days after the announcement of an Amber Alert for her disappearance.

At about 01:30 pm today, her mother Dimitrina Borisova, the Bulgarian citizen who presents himself as the child’s biological father and a 70-year-old Greek, in whose flat the woman was living, were taken to the prosecutor's office for questioning, not in the case of the missing child but in connection with some pills found in the flat.

After the three-hour-long interrogation, the three were taken back to the General Police Directorate of Attica to give specifying evidence in the case of the disappearance of the child.

Meanwhile, their defender Stavros Georgiou told the Greek media that Ani could have become the victim of kidnapping. "The mother assured me that the policemen had shown her a photograph of the child dressed in "big clothes", in a taxi. She had recognized the child and the police had summoned the taxi driver to testify who had claimed that his car had been stolen. We do not know when the photograph was taken, but it was certainly taken after the disappearance of the child. If this is confirmed then we will be talking about kidnapping," said the defender.

According to the Greek online edition newsit.gr, the police confirm the existence of such a photograph and claim at the same time that the mother has not recognized Ani in it. The authorities found the taxi driver and spoke with him on the phone. He will also give evidence to the police.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old man who pretends to be the father of the child is constantly changing his testimony. According to his latest version, the mother had entrusted Ani to him for him to take care of her until she returned from a trip to Germany. "I woke up in the morning and the child was missing," said the man with whom the police authorities had dealt in the past in connection with drug use. Previously, he had "confessed" that he had lost Ani in the park, then that he had entrusted her to a friend of his to protect her from her mother who wanted to take her to Germany, later that his mother had taken care of the child. The Greek media comment that the health condition of the man hampers the investigation and questions his allegations.

After the 28-year-old man appeared the mother gave new evidence, admitting that she had invented the imaginary woman named Silvia to whom she had entrusted Ani and that she did not really exist. "I invented her to protect the child's father, who has lost her," she said shortly after describing "Silvia" as "a 23-year-old slim woman, 1.67 m tall, with one blue and one brown eye."

The 28-year-old father’s mother testified as well. She said she had taken care of Ani at her home for about a month while her mother Dimitrina was in Germany and taken her to his son the day before the mother returned to Athens.

The police believe that both parents know exactly what happened to the child, and sooner or later they will tell the truth and reveal where she is. Taking into account the drug dependence of the 28-year-old father, the authorities are investigating all possible scenarios, from illegal adoption to other, far more dangerous versions.
