The internet page of the Benaki museum www.benaki.gr/bibliology offers the first detailed catalog of the Greek literature from the 19th century which was being created for 20 years. The project is realized by the bibliographical center “Filipos Iliou” which aims at documenting the entire development of the Greek literature and education as a whole in the 19th century. The electronic catalog includes all books, brochures, newspapers and leaflets issued in the country in this period.

The works are combined in three periods – 1801 – 1832; 1833 – 1863 and 1864 – 1900. Customers can search in the entire catalog, but can also look up a work by its title, author, publisher, the year it was published in or by topic. 44 500 works are included, which are presented by all the requirements of the temporary bibliography including with a list of the libraries where copies of them could be found. The works themselves in a digital format are also accessible through the internet page of the Benaki museum.
