Films "Arrow" and "Dogtooth" gathered the most awards at the first awards of the newly established Academy of cinema in Greece. This means that the state awards for quality of the Ministry of Culture went into history and for the Greek Oscars voted 168 members of the Academy. "Dogtooth" by George Lantimos took five awards and transgender “Strella” by Panos Koutras Arrow took four.

Mina Orfanou gathered all the applauses, who is the transgender main character in the movie "Strella," and who firstly thanked the Academy and then her colleagues who helped her understand what cinema is about. "This award is the beginning for all, whose differences have forced them to become invisible," said Mina Orfanou.

The best actor award was presented to Antonis Kafedzopoulos for his play in the film "Plato’s Academy" by Filipos Tsitos. He dedicated his award to the movement Filmmakers in the fog, who actually are the main initiators for the establishment of the Academy of motion picture-arts. "I expected that the Minister of Culture will be among us tonight, but he is in Abu Dhabi,” revealed his disappointment Kafedzopoulos who spoke with bitterness of the finances, which were scattered in recent years through the pockets of people who have nothing to do cinema. "We do not want money, we want to motivate people, who have money to invest them in cinema, we want to set the grounds for a film education of high level," ended Kafedzopoulos.
