Presenting seven Greek photographs in the home page of The Black Snapper is equal to a big international recognition. This online magazine always uploads photographs of people, who are known photographers worldwide.
For one week The Black Snapper will be uploading the works of each of the seven photographers, among whom is Yannis Kondos - awarded for his photograph of a blood drop falling off of a hand, with a background being policemen guarding the parliament. The other six visual artists are Christina Kalbari, Athina Chroni, Victor Coen, Georgios Makas, Stratos Kalaftis and Giorgio Gerolimbos.
The website of the magazine will present between eight and twenty works of each of the artists. The choice was done by specially invited curators and by the photographers themselves, who were chosen by the chief curator of the Photography Museum in Thessaloniki, Iraklis Papayoanou. Each curator explains his/her decision under the photography itself and this text also aims to reveal the individuality of each photographer.
The Black Snapper's concept is to use internet and to show photography from all over the world without any aesthetic prejudice. Meanwhile, since last Friday the Dutch capital Amsterdam is hosting a Week of Greek photography.
