The match between the male volleyball teams Panathinaikos and Olympiakos, which took place in Rendy ended with 3:1. Despite losing the first set the green team showed managed to catch up and lead in the second, third and fourth set. The victory in the 15th round of A1 ranked them first among all teams with maximum points - position for which the hosts fought but failed to reach. ... (Both teams started the game with an equal number of points and equal chances for success). The red team played on their territory among many fans and an additional plus for them was their excellent psychological state – they played against Panathinaikos right after defeating Dinamo - Moscow.
The game started with strong attacks by the hosts - they showed very confident and concentrated play. On the other hand the guests made many mistakes and could not find the right rhythm for a quality game.
Using the weakness and lack of coordination of the green team, the white-reds organized ball passes close to the net, which the greens failed to save. Except for sly tactics the hosts showed very good defense tactics. At this stage of the game the biggest problem for the greens was defense and a secondary problem was the lack of attacks. They failed to save the ball and lost many valuable opportunities to score...
Things turned in the middle of the second set, where the guests apparently changed their psychological condition. They managed to get into the rhythm of the game and started the good attacks. Even though coordination and defense remained problematic, the effective attacks of Agamez managed to compensate this and the team gained points. Despite all defense was better than in the beginning of the game and so Panathinaikos equalized the score and won the advantage, which continue until the end of the game.
