indignant, global protest, October 15, trade unions, economic crisis, Syntagma
Angry citizens from around the world are united today under the slogan: "15 October - the whole world one square." Rallies, concerts, art happenings and live contact with other protesters around the different corners of the globe are included in the agenda of the global peace protest for greater democracy. 951 cities in 82 countries from all continents will take part.
In Athens, indignant citizens will gather at 6 p.m. in Syntagma Square. "What is happening in Greece is a nightmare which other countries in Europe will also have to face. The solidarity of Nations is our weapon," proclaim the organizers. Earlier in the day warming up the protesters will begin with a procession organized by the union of employees in the public sector. They will start by departments and will finally merge in front of the Parliament.
This Saturday is just a rehearsal for what awaits us next week. The great popular indignation will be demonstrated on Wednesday, 19th of October, in the same square, where a national rally will convene at 11.00 a.m.
