Innovative cocktails with ouzo “Plomari” prepared by leading bartenders

A few days ago ouzo "Plomari" became the main ingredient for the 6 original and delightful cocktail made with the help of leading bartenders from Athens and Thessaloniki.

Favorite of the Greeks ouzo chose this way of presenting itself in a better way to the lovers of cocktails but also to the professional mixologists, who discovered another tool to experiment with, by creating for the first time an authentic Greek ouzo cocktail that will make our days more beautiful and will become the new taste of the summer.

This great initiative would have never been achieved without cooperation and assistance of six of the best bartenders in Greece, under the leadership of Andreas Matidis, president of the Association of Greek sommeliers and inspirer of the project. The bartenders invested all their imagination and art and created unexpected combinations with ouzo "Plomari" but also an "improved" version of the classic cocktail "Bloody Mary". To support their efforts, the enterprise for alcoholic beverages "Plomari" - Isidoros Arvanitis took care of the trip of the participants to the picturesque port town of Plomari on the island of Lesvos, where they followed closely the ceremony, from which is born this unique distillate.

The results were more than impressive: ouzo "Plomari" was combined with basil leaves and lavender syrup in a recipe with the flavor of the Mediterranean, with sour cherries jam, which carried our minds to the countries of the East, but also with orange marmalade, which brought up memories of our childhood years ... It was also combined with mashed strawberries and chamomile, which smelled of spring, with green apple flavor, which revealed the fresh  side of the drink, with hints of citrus fruits, which contrasted with its mild taste. In each case it proved that except for being an integral part of the company and an ideal addition to appetizers, ouzo is also a premium incentive for innovative creations that will change everything we ever knew about our favorite drink. So, this year's vacation will smell of ouzo, basil and lavender as Plomari Splash, one of the cocktails created by the participants in the project, will become the new taste of the summer. You should also look for it in Solymar on the island of Mykonos and in Sea Side by Notos on the island Sandorini!
