Jesualdo Ferreira is now officially the new coach of the players of Panathinaikos. The Portuguese signed a contract with the green’s club for year and a half and both the management and he seem happy with the way things are going. "I am delighted to have signed with Panathinaikos. A very good collaboration starts for me. I hope to see a good match with the team of Iraklis tonight. Then I will talk to all journalists" - said the Portoguese after the end of the meeting with President Nicolas Pateras. Shortly before the end of the meeting, however the latter said: "Mr. Ferreira is a tested solution and our first impressions of him are very positive. We will say more in the stadium."

Former coach of Porto and Malaga came in the Greek capital on Friday evening, however the time of his arrival was kept secret. His initial intention was rather to see the details of the contract, but apparently his brief meeting with President of the greens was enough for him to be persuaded and to take over the Celtics. An important position in the list of the greens took also Piero Gasperini and Paul le Guen. The collaboration with Ferreira, however, was a priority for the club.

www.sport.gr informed that in an interview before some Portuguese media, Ferreira said that Panathinaikos is a team that fits the most his goals to win titles. "I can only have good impressions from the team. The proposal is very interesting, and it fits me very much. Admittedly it is very tempting, and that is why I like it. I spent some time free after Spain, when I was informed of the proposal and it rose my interest and convinced me. Respectively, I can only have high expectations of this new step and from the work I will do in Greece" - he said. When asked what he liked about the team he said he liked the fact that Panathinaikos is a team that always plays to win. "This is a spirit that I want to exist, and simultaneously to be the number one goal. I want to be a champion, to compete in the best European championships, and I have in mind the Champions League. This is the type of teams that I'm used to coaching. That is why I am so enthusiastic about the plan with Panathinaikos".

Ferreira is known for the fact that he knows how to build teams from scratch and is a good option in the case of a new start after the leaving a coach or the withdrawal of major players. His favorite system is the 4-3-3, which he played with in Porto. On the pitch he likes everything to be like clockwork and does not avoid drastic changes, if not satisfied with the game of the first-class players. He is also known to be a workaholic, particularly methodical and a very big discipline fan. And... he does not like wild-players ...!
