The lawsuit against the criminals who splashed with acid Konstantina Kouneva before Christmas was sent to the archive by the order of the chief investigator. Konstantina is still recovering from severe burns and her lawyers say they will use all legal means to continue searching for the criminals who tried to kill her. According to the lawyers, the authorities have not done everything necessary to capture the criminals. Not long before the prosecutor’s office returned the case, because there were omissions in it. In February the police arrested an Albanian man, who was a suspect in the attack but on the following day he was released, because there were not enough evidences.

The decision of the investigator provoked harsh reactions from PASOK and the Radical Left Coalition, who expressed their disapproval from the sudden discontinuance of the investigation and called for the justice to finish its job. After the attack against Konstantina Kouneva, her name became a symbol of the fight for establishing all legalities in the labor relationships between employees and employers. The Greek government took care of all medical expenses for Konstantina and gave her an apartment. But the justice turned out to be helpless in finding her attackers.
