Konstantinos Mitsotakis’ government had got ahead of its time

The presentation of the book was attended by two former presidents - Christos Sartzetakis and Kostis Stephanopoulos, the leaders of Democratic Left - Fotis Kouvelis, Independent Greeks - Panos Kamenos and of the non-parliamentary LAOS party George Karatzaferis. The radical left SYRIZA was represented by political veteran and a hero of the Greek Resistance Manolis Glezos. According to sources, the former Prime Minister had personally invited Alexis Tsipras who did not respond to the invitation.

Among the audience in the crowded hall were former ministers of the government of Konstantinos Mitsotakis including Petros Doukas. Former mayors of Athens Nikitas Kaklamanis and Mitsotakis’ daughter - Dora Bakogiannis, who hosted the event, and current mayor George Kaminis were there too.

The former Prime Minister was also honoured by chairman of parliament Evangelos Meimarakis, former president of the Bank of Greece Nikolaos Garganas, mayor of Maroussi George Patoulis, Konstantinos Karamanlis’ cabinet ministers Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Evangelos Andonaros and George Alogoskoufis and former ministers of PASOK Anna Diamandopoulou and Christos Verelis.

The presentation of the book was also attended by some of the most prominent representatives of Greek journalism: Athanasios Ellis, Thassos Teloglu, Manolis Kotakis, Pashos Mandravelis and Panagis Galiatsatos.

Big business was represented by Vardis Vardinogiannis, and the media industry - by publisher Stavros Psiharis.

Many of the attendees were unable to enter the hall, which was full of standing people. They followed the speeches and applauded the former Prime Minister from the lobby of "Elinikos Kosmos" hall where the presentation took place.
