The greek team that represented the country at this year's Eurovision is back home. Still at the Eleftherios Venizelos airport Loukas Giorkas, Stereo Mike, Konstantinos Rigos, Giannis Christodoulopoulos and Eleana Vrahali could not hide their joy and pride from the seventh position in the music competition. Their song Watch My Dance has had remarkable success despite the gloomy outlook.
"We are very happy with the outcome. We went through many ups and downs as a team to reach the seventh place. This is team work which turned out to be successful, "said Loukas.
As for the result, the singer said he was proud of the seventh position and that more important is the way he and his team have walked.
"To be seventh in the Eurovision Song Contest is an achievement for us. All we have strived to do was to give the best of ourelves during the performance. Ultimately, the result does not bother us, because we know that we gave our soul on the stage."
Of course, one of the strongest moments during the Greek participation was when Loukas moved to tears while waiting for the final standings in Dusseldorf.
"I cried because of all the tension there. It was a pretty tense moment and really could not restrain myself," said Giorkas.
An interesting fact is that the first phone call after the final standings Loukas receives from his parents. They expressed their pride in his son and said that the place does not matter but what matters is the energy with which they charged the stage.
Loukas said that a new period begins for him and his entourage after Eurovision. The singer did not hide his joy that his song denied the skeptical criticism and was very much appreciated in Dusseldorf.
"We were fighting for months with almost no resources. We are glad that we managed to get so far and our song was appreciated, he said.
