Bohemian and unexpectedly cosmopolitan, Patmos will draw you into its rhythm. The island of the biblical Revelation offers a complete revelation to those tourists who do not like unnatural things and think that a holiday is a good opportunity to change perspective, to get rid of high heels and dance barefoot until sunrise.

Patmos is among the famous religious centres, and tourists from all over the world come to see the Cave of the Apocalypse and the Monastery of Patmos. Of course, it’s not only that, the island is very beautiful too. Even in August, you won’t see crowds in the streets, in bars and on the beaches. If you are planning your holiday now and want to avoid the hordes of crazy tourists, Patmos is what you need.

A Chapter from the History of Christianity

Patmos is the place where the Holy Book of Revelation was written and is one of only two places on earth where God's voice was heard. Patmos is important for all spiritual people who would love its special atmosphere and culture.

The Cave of the Apocalypse is located in Patmos halfway from the port of Skala to the main area. According to the Christian tradition, a rock collapsed in the cave and from there, from the three smaller rocks symbolizing the Holy Trinity, the voice of God was heard when he dictated  to John the Revelation’s text.

Revelation on the Beach

If you get bored driving, you have found the island of your dreams. Distances here are small and from the port of Skala you can visit a different beach every day, or even change them in the morning and afternoon. On most beaches of Patmos you will find a café or tavern as well as trees where to hide in the shade. There are also organized beaches with umbrellas and sunbeds for those who do not like the idea of spreading out a towel on the sand.

Grikos

The beach of Grikos is located in the bay of the village bearing the same name. You will be surrounded by a friendly atmosphere, extremely clean waters and many restaurants where you can enjoy a drink, some food or a cup of coffee, sitting by the sea.

Campos

The beach is right after you pass the village of Campos in the Kato Campos area. On the beach, you can hire sun beds and umbrellas as well as paddle boats and canoes.

The White Beach

A magic view awaits you once you get to the small remote beach near Skala, before Meloi. Huge trees provide the so much needed shade.

Chora is Quite Different

It's hardly a coincidence that international celebrities have bought houses in Chora on Patmos Island. Chora is located 3 km from Skala and is both tiny and cosmopolitan, providing a fantastic selection of food and drinks, gathering beautiful people with big smiles and in great mood who want to escape from the daily routine. These are people just like you...
