Nobody wants early elections in Greece

The same applies there. All options are open. But because we try often to analyze the outcome of local elections to understand what the party correlations are, I do not know whether it is appropriate to add the election result of the independent candidate Petros Tatoulis, supported by PASOK, to the percentages of the ruling party and whether the result of the opposition candidate Vassilis Kikilyas mirrors the strength of New Democracy in the largest administrative district in the country. I do not think so either in one or the other case. So, I think it is very possible to make wrong conclusions if we look at the results only as numbers.

My opinion for the second round is that voters will go to vote not squeezed by political dilemmas. They will be free to choose those who believe will cope the best with the tasks in the next most difficult for Greece four years.

To what extend could we say that the government won the support necessary to pursue the serious reforms in the country?

See, I think the forecasts for a government such as this, which carries the serious policy required to follow, were worse than the results we saw late last night. So, I believe the outcome of the first local elections round took away the early parliamentary elections scenario and ‘liberated’ all political forces in the country that have isolated themselves with their own dilemmas. I think nobody wanted early elections in the present moment. Neither individuals, nor political parties.
