Usually it the men who think about how good their performance in bed is; they want to impress their partner, but most of all impress themselves. The Greek center for sexual health claims this based on a research done from September 2004 until April 2007. “Katimerini” newspaper cites the research that 82,1% of Greeks are unsure of their good performance in bed.
What is happening with the Greek women then? The problem that they mostly encounter (30%) is the sexual desire; 24,6% share that they cannot reach orgasm, and 6% say that the sex act causes them pain. Only 68% of Greek women are bothered by this fact, and the rest take it as a normal part of life. 14% of the ones researched have called the Center for sexual health with general questions about intercourse. Not because they didn’t know the answers, but because they wanted to check, all the things they read in the media, from specialists.
It is interesting that young women are the ones mostly worried about their sexual performance. 32,5 is the average age of those who have answered positive to the question if they are worried about how good their performance is. 35 is the average age of the ones who have sought help from a specialist regarding sexual behavior. 95,2% of Greek women who have the above mentioned worries are in a relationship. 79% from them admit their life if very stressed. From the men who doubt their sexual abilities, 63,9% claim they live under pressure.
“Worries about sexual abilities show an uncertainty in oneself, lack of knowledge or bad communication within the relationship,” comments Dr. Stamatis Papaharitou, director of the Center for sexual health.
