Research on the 1564 customer service line, of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the governmental administration, showed that 42% of people don’t remember the phone number even though they know of its existence. Only 6% are those who know it, but only 88% of the people who have used it are happy with the service. After finding out the result of the research, a new easy to remember line was activated – 1500. The new line will be open 24/7 throughout the whole year.
With only one call, the citizens will be informed on all topics connected to the governmental administration. 95 procedures could be done over the phone, which are under the Centers competency, which require documents required from citizens or firms or official documents. All those procedures can also be done over the internet, on the governmental administration websites. Citizens have the opportunity to order documents or certificates and receive them according to where they live.
Among the offered services are:
- topics connected to the Main Secretariat of consumers
- questions connected the protection of abused women
- topics connected to economic emigrants
- topics connected to the everyday value of gas
- topics about tourist programs of the Greek tourism organization
- results from university entry exams
- the development of legal claims in the Commission for compensating the citizens
- the provided services are offered in English, French, Albanian, Russian, Arabic, and Bulgarian
In his announcement the deputy-minister of internal affairs and governmental administration Hristos Zois stressed that “With consistency and determination we continue our efforts of updating the governmental administration’s services. I call on all citizens to make use of this new opportunity.”
