Will there be a winner after the crisis

Until now losses on the Athenian stock exchange exceed $38 billion and ?137 million. Big companies, which until not long ago were playing a significant role on the international business map, are no longer included in the “biggest companies” list. On local grounds changes are significantly smaller because the country does not have the luxury to have many big companies.

It is evident that the crisis is about to be felt. The conditions in the finance sector are driving back investors because of the dangerous values. Analyzers are already looking for the so called “winners of tomorrow” or associations, which will be the first ones in the next peak of the stocks if the crisis does not leave chaos after it’s over.

Kevin Gardner, strategic director of HSBC Bank and his team of analyzers believe that the winner in the next round will be the stocks of Nifty Fifty, which were leaders in the 60s and 70s. They are talking about associations, which stocks depend on international sales.

Due to the fact that Greece is left outside and the visibility in economic and political plan is low, then also the stocks are left outside in the periphery when it comes to international exchange. In the last ten years there were two periods when the stocks collapsed and there were 50% losses. The markets, which are founded on the flow of international capitals, among which is Greece, are expected to pass through hard times.

Today, the behavior of the investors is unpredictable and hope is easily giving up to fear. “The temptation will be to start believing to what the politicians are saying and to suppose that their actions will bring an increase to the global economy in the second half of the year,” claims Gary Dugan, managing director of Merrill Lynch. “We will constantly be facing hard challenges,” says Dugan, “and the investors will refocus towards products with stable profits.”
