Greek athletes are preparing for Torino

Many athletes confirmed they are in a good form at the track-and-field athletics on the Greek international games, which took place in Athens over the weekend.


Kostas Douvalidis (on the photo) succeeded to run 60 meters with hurdles for 7.74 - time, which ensured him a ticket for the European Championship. It will take place this March in Torino. 22 year old athlete from Drama won a bronze medal in the 2005 youth European Championship and during 2007 he won a golden medal in the European Championship for under 23 year olds.


Nadia Enefadaki succeeded to run 3000 meters for 8.58.12. Pericles Giolas’ athlete managed to keep her rhythm till the end with the help of Konstandina Kelafa, who helped her in the first 1500 meters. Enefadaki managed to run each kilometer for under 3 minutes. She ranked easily and will go to Torino because she made the best time for Greece this year. Her best season was in 2003, when she finished the 1500 meters for 4.12.91, which is an international record.


The 20 year old Voula Papahristou jumped 14.16 meters in the triple jump and will also participate in the European Championship.


Lois Tzatoumas confirmed his good condition. In the long jump he did 8.13 meters, which is the third best achievement in the world. Lois Tzatoumas is the owner of the first best achievement on the planet – 8.20 meters from January 31st.
