For six months, 31 year old Tzvetelina Georgieva was working in a restaurant in the Greek city Kalamata. On Tuesday night she was going back home in a friend's car, when another car, going with 200km/h hits them. The vehicle, in which Tzvetelina was, flies off in the opposite lane, where it gets hit by a truck. Both passengers in the car die instantly.

Tzvetelina lived in Greece with her two children – three year old girl and a 12 year old boy. She didn't have money. She did not keep in touch with her husband, who is working outside of Bulgaria. After her death, the Bulgarians in Kalamata are wondering from where they can find means, in order to transport the body to her parents in Cherven Bryag. From the Bulgarian embassy in Athens they are told that there is no budget for such occasions. Following, they collected money amongst themselves and they also got help from the local church and municipality.

The people are poor, most of them do not have a permanent job and they work whatever they can find. After all they will manage to send off their friend. Tomorrow at 04:00pm, in the Bulgarian coffee shop in Kalamata a mournful ceremony will take place, after which Tzvetelina will undertake her last trip to her home country. Her friend was buried yesterday, who also died instantly in the car crash.

Now, Tzvetelina’s parents and friends hope that her children will receive compensation from the Greek government. According to the police, the driver of the red Audi, which crashed into Tzvetelina’s car with 200km/h, is the one to blame for this tragic event. The court must decide whether this is true or not. Together with the criminal lawsuit, a civil claim for compensation must be filed. If the perpetrator for the car accident is the Audi driver, then Tzvetelina’s children can be compensated. But if the perpetrator is the driver of Tzvetelina’s car, then they will only receive the “Life” insurance, if she had one.
