Greece is second in the Balkan race-walking Championship

The Greek race walking national team performed excellent on the Balkan Championship, which took place in Buchurest. The team won 5 models – one gold, one silver, and three bronze and was 2nd in the final ranking.


The golden medal was won by Katerina Theodoropoulou in the 5,000 meters race, whose achievement became a Balkan record. Maria Hadjipanayotidis won silver medal in the 20,000 meters race. The bronze medals were won by Alexander Papamihail for the 20,000 meters men’s race, Nikoleta Lada – 10,000 meters in the youth race and George Kelepouril – 5,000 meters children’s race.


The Greek national team won second place with 34 points. First is Romania with 38 points and third is Turkey with 32 points.
