AEK player Rafik Djebbour was punished with a fine of ?20 000. The fine was imposed because of a quarrel with the coach of the club Dusan Bajevic, which happened a little bit before the Monday practice.
Yesterday, the player apologized to the president of the yellow-black team Nikos Thanopoulos.
The president of the club made the following statement: “Sometimes we do things, which we regret later but this cannot continue like this. Whoever does not respect his coach and does not conform with his teammates will be punished. We will not tolerate behavior, which harms AEK and we will do whatever Dusan Bajevic decides. No one is above the team. Such behavior will be punished.”
With those words Nikos Thanopoulos “transferred the ball” to coach Bajevic, who will have to make the final decision. The Algerian will not play at the play-offs and most likely will leave AEK during summer. The managing team decided to set a fine of ?20 000 for disciplinary offence. Djebbour will continue practicing alone.
