This year part of the biggest Greek rock festival Rockwave will be some of the greatest names in modern rock music. Concerts start on June 2th and will continue for four days in Terra Vibe park, where the bands will play on two stages.

On Saturday, June 27th, the concerts on the central stage will start with Aviv Geffen, the Israeli who if famous from the band Blackfield. After him Gogol Bordello will take over the stage with their front-man Eugene Hütz, who will drive the fans crazy with his Balkan punk. The most awaiting one by the Athens audience is Moby, who along with his big hits will present songs from his new album “Wait For Me.” The singer will come on stage at the end of June. The night will end with the great Placebo, who will also present some of their new hits. There is a rumor that those songs remind of their classic album “Without You I’m Nothing.” Meanwhile, on the small stage will perform one of the newest British bands “The Foals.”

The cool soul Duffy will open the show on Sunday (June 28th). The singer came out with her first album last year but it immediately became a hit. Following her, will sing the Americans with Hindi rhythms the Killers, who will play on the central Terra Stage. One of the biggest American rock bands, which will come to sing their new album “Farm” for the Greek public are Dinosaur Jr. For the darker trip hop music fans, Tricky will sing on Vibe Stage. Their fans will be warmed up by the new British band Eden James.

After a nine year disappearance the Americans Motley Crue came out with a new CD called “Saints of Los Angeles.” In Greece we will be able to see them as absolute leaders on Monday night (June 29th) on Terra Stage. Playing before them will be Moster Magnet, Arch Enemy, and Lauren Harris – daughter of Iron Maiden’s bass Steve Harris. Lauren made her debut last year with the album “Calm Before the Storm,” which was accepted by the public very enthusiastically. Obviously, Monday will be the day of the hard music lovers – W.A.S.P. and Voivod will play on Vibe Stage.

The last day of the festival (Sunday, June 30th) is saved for the masked Americans Slipknot, who will perform hits from their last year album “All Hope Is Gone.” Down, Kylesa, Torche and Mastodon will perform during the same day and they will play for us hits from their new album “Crack the Skye.” On the small Vibe Stage, Saxon and Lita Ford will entertain the public.

It is expected that in the upcoming days, the organizers of the festival will reveal more names of performers, who have confirmed their participation in this big rock event.

At the days of the concerts, Terra Vibe Park will open its doors at 11:00am and one ticket will cost ?50 (?55 at Terra Vibe box offices). A two day ticket (1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th) will cost ?85 and a ticket for all four days will be ?150.
