Athens mayor Nikita Kaklamanis welcomed the European basketball champions from Berlin – Panathinaikos. After the parliament reception few days ago, it was the municipality’s turn to greet the team of Jelko Obradovich. The mayor broke the protocol and firstly congratulated the Thanasis and Pavlos Yanakopulos brothers, who for 38 years have been leading the “clovers” and after that the team and the staff.

“Let the European stars in your team become ten – noted in his greeting the Athens mayor – All of us are proud of the success of Panathinaikos, which made Athens famous all around Europe. Nikita Kaklamanis awarded the Yanakopoulos brothers with the city’s golden medal, which had the form of a clover with five stars. The basketball players gave a ball with signatures of the whole team to the mayor.
