Second case of H1N1 infection in Greece was announced by the local branch of the “Pasteur” institute. The person is a 21 year old student, living in Edinburgh, who recently returned to his home country. The Health Ministry informed that his symptoms are in initial stage and all necessary measures have been taken, so that the life of the boy is out of danger.
The patient is in his home and, for now, he does not need to be hospitalized in the “Shishmanogliou” hospital, which specializes in virus and contagious infections, where the first case of swine flu in Greece was treated. The 21 year old student is being taken care of according to the instructions of the World Health Organization and the EU.
An official statement of the Greek Health Ministry says that his relatives and all people he was in touch with have been warned and are under supervision. The doctors, who commented on the case, say that it is very important to keep a strict personal hygiene and supervise oneself and during the first suspicious symptoms they are advising to seek for medical help. The sooner the virus is found, the better the disease will pass.
