The Greek authorities announced that since yesterday, the university hospital in Thessaloniki AHEPA is treating another boy infected with the H1N1 virus. He is 20 years old and is also a student in Edinburgh. As GRReporter already wrote, yesterday the Greek branch of “Pasteur” announced that there is a second case of swine flu in Greece and it is a student from Edinburgh, who recently returned to the country. The third student, who was traveling with the two infected ones, has been tested for the H1N1 virus and the results are negative.
The boy, who was diagnosed yesterday with the dangerous virus is hospitalized in the Athenian hospital “Shishmanoglio,” which specializes in virus and infectious diseases. Until this morning, the patient was treated in his house but the doctors decided that it is better to hospitalize him.
The first case of swine flu in Greece was also a student from abroad (New York) and he is 19 years old. At the beginning of the week, he was released from the Shishmanoglio hospital.
The National anti-swine flu commission will gather in Athens today.
