Arrested Bulgarians with forged credit cards

During a weekend large scale operation of the Greek police in Thessaloniki, 15 people were arrested and accused in producing and using forged credit cards. Among the arrested are Bulgarians, Macedonians, three Greeks and a Greek-Georgian woman. In their apartments, the policemen found modern devices for printing forged credit cards. According to the authorities, the arrested have withdrawn over ?261 000 with forged credit cards. The criminals are charged with fraud, forgery, participation in a criminal organization and legalizing income from illegal activity. Today, the accused will be questioned by an investigator.

Yesterday a Bulgarian was caught while trying to install a recording device on an ATM machine in front of a branch of the National Bank of Greece in Pieria. Found in the device was information about 52 foreign debit cards with which the Bulgarian had withdrawn ?60 000 from different places around Greece. The 32 year old man was send to the DA right away for questioning.
