Elena Nikolova
Remaining on number one this week in GRR HOT 15 is Zoom by Nevena, Marius Moga and NiVo. The hit song found place in the hearts of Bulgarians, Romanians and Greeks. This project was a challenge for the Greek rapper NiVo, because he had never sang in English before. There is an interesting connection between this song and number 14 in the chart – Iparhi zoi (There is Life) by Despina Vandi. NiVo and Despina were supposed to have a concert together on June 18th in Thessaloniki but it was cancelled due to the bad weather. The new date of the concert is June 29th!
Two positions up and on second place are Pussycat Dolls with their song Hush Hush. The girls had a concert in Sydney on May 22nd, where Jessica strained her back. She had to miss some shows, while trying to recover but thankfully everything is OK and she will be on stage during the group’s concerts around Britain.
This week Tha ‘Mai Allios jumped up with three positions, which put Elena Paparizou on number three. Elena will also be going on tour this summer, so Greece prepare!
The “summer hit song” fell with two positions and is now on number 4. Together Forever by Playmen and Reckless might be stepping away from the top 3 but this does not change the fact we all love it and will listen to it all summer long, which will leave it to be a nice 2009 memory.
This week number five in GRR HOT 15 are the Killers with their song Spaceman, which climbed up with two positions. Many concert cancellations happened lately…first Depeche Mode cancelled their concert in Greece and in other countries and now the same is happening with The Killers. Earlier this week they cancelled their appearance in Fiji Rock Festival due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The band apologized to its Japanese fans but I’m sure many people are disappointed.
Number 6, Wire to Wire fell with three positions, leaving the top 5. Razorlight’s summer tour starts on June 26th in Austria and finishes on September 5th in Poland, crossing all Europe. So all fans, hurry up and purchase some tickets and if you are lucky enough to have the band coming to a city near you – good, if not you better buy some plane tickets.
My lucky number seven is taken by Disco Party and Grafa & Akaga. One truly entertaining song, which is appreciated by the public and evidence, is the speed with which it is going up. Number eight this week is Sakis Rouvas with This is Our Night. Saki has been present in the chart for almost five months, out of which the first two weeks he was competing with his song Irthes. From then on This is Our Night has been going up and down, which is a sign of success, because only Saki managed to take over our hearts completely.
