Djibril Cissé signed a contract with Panathinaikos

Thousands of Panathinaikos fans greeted Djibril Cissé at the Athenian airport Eleftherios Venizelos. The French star arrived from Liverpool with the personal airplane of the club’s president Nikos Pateras.

After passing all the medical examinations the famous for his eccentric haircuts Frenchman will signa four year contract with the green ones for ?10 million, plus additional bonuses and profits from securities.

French media claims that the deal between Olympique de Marseille and Panathinaikos is for ?8 million, which is a record transfer amount for the Greek grand.

During the last season he was rented by Suderland and because of his contribution, the team remained in England’s elite. Though, Suduerland did not want to buy off the player’s rights from Marseille.

After the great “hit” for the green ones, the president of the club Nikos Pateras said that he is happy from the transfers of Djibril Cissé, Sebastián Leto, and Kostas Katzouranis. “Panathinaikos’ administration will do everything in its power to finalize those transfers. We are very optimistic. From now on all main Panathinaikos stock holders – Mr. Vardinoyannis, Mr. Vgenopoulos, Mr. Yanakopoulos and I, hope that we fulfilled the coaches’ plans and the promises we made to the team’s fans.”
