The list contains stunning deposit amounts of shipping magnates, university professors, wives of former ministers, advertising agents, industrialists, doctors and lawyers. The majority of them were in the past, or still are, close to various political parties.
After the rumours and speculations that have been circulating for months, the original "Lagarde List" has been submitted to the Greek Parliament. Before reaching the hands of the members of the parliamentary commission investigating the case, it had passed through the service fighting financial crimes.
Some of the names on the list are well known whereas others are completely unknown to the general public.
For example, first on the list is Maria Panteli, who has a deposit amounting to $ 562,896,546. In her testimony before the members of the commission, she said that the money was not hers and that she was just an employee managing the bank account of a mutual fund.
Second is Solomon Levis with a deposit of $ 557,938,829, whose name appears among the holders of other accounts. GRReporter was unable to find information about the source of his fortune.
Third is Pinelopi Sapountzi with a deposit of $ 108,586,482. She is presented as an export manager of a company called Sapountzi P. SA, which imports and sells sanitary ware, taps, bathroom accessories, wooden floors, car spare parts, machines for water and swimming pools treatment.
Fourth is the founder of Capital Manager Advisors (CMA) Multi Hedge Ltd. Saby Mionis with $ 80,619,625. He did not appear to testify before the investigative parliamentary commission but explained in a letter to its members that he managed foreign capitals. Saby Mionis is a descendant of a family of emblematic presence among the Jewish community in Greece, who decided at some point to go to Israel, where he has been appointed spokesman of the army. He was born in Athens in 1969. At the age of 19, he received a scholarship from the American Brandeis University. After graduation, he was appointed investment manager in the American investment bank Donaldson (DLJ). In 1998, he returned to Greece where he has established the investment company CMA along with Angelos Metaxas – the son of the founder of the world famous brand of brandy in the late 19th century.
Angelos Metaxas is 14th on the "Lagarde List" with a deposit of $ 44,569,352. The company deals with the management of venture capital. It reached its peak in 2000 after its property was valued at $ 3 billion. A few years ago, the name of Saby Mionis ranked among the top 50 businessmen with companies managing venture capital of the prestigious British ''Business magazine''.
In 2006, the bank holding company EFG International - part of Spiros Latsis’ financial group based in Zurich – bought the company. Ten days later, Saby Mionis left for Israel.
All deposits held by the first 78 names on the list – individual persons and entities – amount to more than $ 10 million. 282 account holders have over $ 2 million and the first 116 on the list have deposits of more than $ 6 million.
The owners of Pegasos media group, Fotios Bobolas and Maria Bobola, are 29th and 30th on the list with deposits of $ 23,750,088 and $ 21,591,197. Stavros Papastavrou, adviser to the Greek Prime Minister, is 145th with $ 5,397,856. The same is the amount deposited by his father Nikolaos, his mother Fanny and by the offshore company Stabri Unlimited.
The cousins of former Finance Minister George Papakonstantinou and their spouses are ranked 391st. As shown by the list, there is a sum of $ 1,222,000 in their account, which is under investigation by the parliamentary commission.
Stavroula Kourakou – the wife of Yiannos Papantoniou, a former finance minister, is ranked 269th on the list, with deposits amounting to $ 2,134,775.
The company Telesis Investments Bank SA Right is right before her with $ 2,158,452.
The service fighting financial crimes and the economic prosecutors continue the examinations of the list by comparing the tax returns and property declarations of the account holders.

After her testimony before the commission in parliament, Maria Panteli expressed her anger at being discredited, as she said, after the first appearance of the list. In statements to reporters, she expressed her anger over the way in which former Minister George Papakonstantinou had "involved her in this affair." In addition, she filed a claim against him, requiring him to pay her cash compensation of 400,000 euro for indicating her as the holder of the largest bank account on the "Lagarde List".
Maria Panteli states in her claim that she is just an employee of the company Capital Manager Advisors (CMA) Multi Hedge Ltd. and that her position was, and is, an "internet user" rather than a "beneficiary owner" of the large account.
Maria Panteli accused the media of publishing false information that she and her family lived in a house with a pool in Paris. "Did they come to see how we live? My children attend a public school. My husband travels the world with dozens of suitcases to sell glasses."
According to sources, the commission members had asked her whether the mother of former Prime Minister George Papandreou, Margarita Papandreou, was not hiding behind the large account - information that had leaked from sources from the service fighting financial crimes. Maria Panteli stated in response, "I know nothing about Margarita Papandreou. Our customers were not private individuals. The bank account transactions which I saw were from a bank to a bank, not to the owners of shares."
