The match between the basketball teams of Olympiakos and Unicaja Malaga played on the field in Piraeus finished 93-66. Despite the surprising presence of not so many fans on the pitch last night the white-and-reds played in full force and showed once again their capabilities. They played with spirit and zeal and, of course, no one was surprised that success was on their side.

Although the overall defence of the Spaniards was very strong, Olympiakos skillfully managed to break it through and win points. Teodosic, Bourousis and Spanoulis were in very good shape last night. The three succeeded to play the ball masterfully and often surprised the visiting team with a quick basket scored under its nose or skillfully won 3 points. Unlike Olympiakos, it was quite difficult for Unicaja to break through the defence of the home team and they found themselves in the embarrassing position to chase the opponent in the result from the outset.

Still at the beginning the white-and-reds broke to pieces the hopes of the Spaniards to win in Athens and showed who the master on the pitch was. They won a lead of 16 points during the first 10 minutes. The difference in the outcome was more than 20 before the end of the next 10 minutes. Nestorovic and Papanikolaou significantly contributed to this rapid advance. The visiting team definitely could not find its rhythm, nor to reach the opponent's basket. An exception was the star player of the team, the 33-year-old American guard Terrell McIntyre. He did a lot of work on the pitch in Piraeus not only as a defender, but as an attacker. The player has become a part of Unicaja recently and tries the best to find his rhythm and play in the new team. He really did the best last night and there was even a moment when he was so fast that flew out of the field and ‘landed’ between the chairs of the nearby public.

The former player of Olympiakos Georgios Printezis was in the team of Unicaja. He was the one to attack the white-and-reds first in the beginning of the first and early in the second half.

Unicaja was trying to catch up with its opponent and sought ways to regain what it had lost. Even for a moment the visiting team managed to reduce the difference in the outcome at the beginning of the second half. But Olympiakos, although it played loose for a while, quickly recovered. Burusic, Spanoulis and Papaloukas, who played their 200 match last night, scored and made the difference in the outcome 27.
