Olympiakos in the finals of A1 women volleyball

With a score of 3:1 finished the game from A1 between female volleyball teams of Olympiakos and Panionios which was played at the field in Nea Smirni. With their victory this evening, the white-red team managed to qualify for the finals of the Championship of Greece. They are clearly the favorite for the title ...

Victory over the team from Panionios this evening is the second in a row for the white-red. Their previous victory over Panionios they saw in the game, which the teams played in the field in Piraeus. So for the fourth consecutive time they will face the chance to fight for the title of champion of Greece in the finals play off.

Olympiakos started their game fast and confidently. The girls were in good psychological condition, a fact which gave effect to the course. Early in the first set they were able to gain advantage through well-organized passes and successful attacks. The hosts also entered confidently in the game, but found it difficult to block the ball of the guests. With the support of their fans thought they managed to score some points, and there were even moments when they were reaching the score of the guests.

The second set brought a change at the course. The guests loosened up their defense and the athletes of Panionios did not missed to use this fact. They progressed in the score and gained points from balls which the guests did not manage to save. So the set ended with victory for the hosts.

During the third and fourth sets Olympiakos improved its defense and proceeded to attack. As a result, it won both sets.

Who will the volleyball players of Olympiakos meet in the next round they will learn on Saturday, 24.04., when the third and last game between teams of Markopoulo and Panathinaikos will be played.
