As part of the Champions League, Olympiakos won over Arsenal with 1:0 at Karaiskaki stadium in Athens. During the second half the Brazilian player Leonardo scored the goal, with which he realized the red-whites dream to be ranked in the 16th round of the Champions League. The goal of the Brazilian striker brought great joy to the hosting team and fired up the hearts of the fans. The victory was wanted even though Olympiakos would have ranked for the 16th round even if the game ended with a tie.

The success of the red-whites is owed mainly to the changed tactic during the second half, because the first half was not that good. Then the players had 9 good goal positions but did not manage to take advantage of them. The first goal attempt was made by Mitroglou in the 15th minute, Galetti in the 21st minute and Dudu in the 28th minute. By the end of the first half striker Raul Bravo also unsuccessfully tried to score a goal.

Arsenal had a total of 5 good goal positions during the first half. During the second half the team had another good shot but Song did not manage to realize it.

During the second half Olympiakos played a true optimistic and coordinated game. In the 31st minute striker Leonardo tried to score a second goal but the ball was caught by Arsenal’s goalkeeper Fabianski.

Arsenal played very well during the second half as well. Hey had few good goal opportunities but goalkeeper Nikopolidis managed to keep the ball outside his net.
