Great composer of Greek origin Vangelis Papathanassiou was invited by the European Space Agency to compose the music for the official video of the Rosetta mission. As reported by the global news agencies, yesterday, at around 10:35 am Greek time, the Rosetta spacecraft with Philae probe on board landed on comet 67R.
Shortly after the successful landing, the European Space Agency disseminated the official video of the Rosetta mission, in which the magnificent music by Vangelis could be heard. The Agency had asked the composer to compose three separate motives for the three phases of the mission. The result is exceptional, as one would expect.

71-year-old composer of Greek origin Vangelis Papathanassiou is one of the most brilliant, but also enigmatic, persons in modern world music. In his biography so far, he has a huge number of awards, including an Oscar for best film music for the masterpiece "Chariots of Fire", 1981.
