On Sunday, 3 May, shops across Greece will be open from 11:00 am to 08:00 pm, as announced by the Hellenic Retail Business Association. In addition, the period of discounts in all shops will last from 2-10 May.

Unlike those wishing to visit shops and benefit from lower prices of goods, those who want to go to the Greek islands on 1 May will not have this opportunity.

The reason is the strike announced by the Hellenic Maritime Federation in connection with the crews of passenger and cargo ships, which will last from midnight on Thursday, 30 April to midnight on Saturday, 2 May.

The strikers demand the restoration of their labour and social security rights in the form of the time before the crisis, the signing of collective agreements in the industry and an immediate payment of the salaries earned by the crews in previous months.

At the same time, the traffic police is taking stricter measures for road safety, prohibiting the movement of trucks with a tonnage of over 1.5 tons for this purpose as follows:

- On 30 April from 04:00 pm to 10:00 pm

- On 1 May from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm

- On 3 May from 03:00 pm to 09:00 pm.
