The game from t6he 32nd round of the Super league between the football teams of Panathinaikos and Roma, played at the OAKA Stadium in Athens ended with a triumph for the greens. Even though it wasn’t very active in the very beginning of the game, the team of Panathinaikos managed once again to win the hearts of its fans with the victory it gained and more precisely with the way it gained it. The victory of the greens on OAKA stadium proved their capabilities as a team and along with that it proved that when we talk about football anything is possible… For those who had some doubts about the position of Panathinaikos the game the game was a proof that the team is in great physical and psychological shape.

In the beginning of the game however the hosts were not managing to find the right rhythm and were too relaxed and not really concentrated on the field, while the precious chances for a goal were missed due to mistakes in the coordination. A great chance to score had Katsouranis in the very beginning of the game. Good chances to score also had Cisse and the best of them was in the 44th minute of the first half of the game – the Frenchman ruined his chance by hitting the ball with his had outside the goal post.

During the 27th minute a wonderful attempt made also Ninis, however the goalkeeper Sergio managed to catch the ball. In the 29th minute the forward of Roma Vucinic scored in the goal post of Tzorvas and like this the atmosphere on the OAKA stadium was clouded. Some of the fans even started to get up and leave the stadium… The dark atmosphere was kept until the end of the first half which ended exactly with the ruined attempt of Cisse to score.

The second half was the time of the positive surprises. Both replacements which Nioplias made – Salpingidis (replacing Katsouranis) and Christodoulopoulos (replacing Ninis), turned out to be literary crucial. In the very first moment of his entrance in the field Salpingidis scored a goal (21st minute of the second half) which was a breath of fresh air for the greens and definitely bettered their psychological condition. The hosts came out of their sleepy rhythm of play which Roma had imposed on purpose and started playing for more actively in the attacks. During the 35th minute a second goal in the post of the hosts was scored by Pizarro which only for a moment made the hopes of the greens for a victory to fade out. This is exactly the moment when Nioplias made the second replacement in the team and in the place of Ninis entered in the game Christodoulopoulos, and like a magic (only in the second minute after he entered the field) he scored a goal in the post of Roma and evened the score once again. The hopes of the greens were up again. The total turning point came in the 44th minute when Cisse took the ball from Salpingidis and sent it straight in the post of the goalkeeper Doni with a head shot. To this spectacular victory the audience at the stadium applauded and cheered loud and wild…
