Streetpanthers attack Thessaloniki

Activists from Thessaloniki organization Streetpanthers wrapped in stretch film six cars that were illegally parked in the city centre, blocking the passage of disadvantaged people and pedestrians.

The owners who had parked their cars on walkways and wheelchair ramps found them wrapped in transparent stretch film like cocoons. In addition, the activists had written the offence in large red letters, "walkway" or "ramp".

As a "bonus," drivers obtained even Christmas decorations on their cars.

Until a few years ago, Streetpanthers expressed their attitude to those drivers who parked their cars wherever they considered convenient by putting on car windows stickers reading, "I am a donkey". The activists have already resorted to more drastic measures, and as one of them states for the Athens News Agency, "We will continue until we run out of the 150-metre-long stretch film."
