Contributing to the tension is the fact that according to some sources a former minister of New Democracy has threatened to commit suicide if his name is in the list of those involved. Some MPs even openly threatened to respond by submitting documents and data for others.
According to unofficial information, New Democracy’s MP and member of the Supervisory Committee for the Siemens scandal Costas Tzavaras told the party leader Antonis Samaras that all involved in the scandal should be announced "at any price."
The left coalition SYRIZA’s deputy Dimitris Papadimoulis compared the political shopping to which PASOK and New Democracy have been devoted recently with ‘accordion with names that opens and closes’. The Supervisory Committee report is expected to be submitted to the Speaker of Parliament today.
