And here comes the most anticipated season of the year for the fans of music and concerts, when one can relax, listening to wonderful live music, dancing and bearing in the footsteps of light flirts at least for a few hours.  

We start with the most recent music event - the European Music Day, and later you can inform yourselves for all the great concerts by mid-July. In the frameworks of the European Music Holiday people in Athens, Thessaloniki and in another 22 cities will enjoy the concerts in the streets and squares until Monday. The coolest groups of contemporary Greek and foreign music scene will play free for all who want to hear them – from today until June 21. For a while the Greeks and visitors to Athens will kick their black thoughts out and leave themselves to bear the rhythm of rock and hip-hop artists full of energy and calm their souls with the sounds of classical music.

Concerts begin on June 18 in Technopolis with the performance of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia of “Carmen” by Bizet with the Symphonic Orchestra of Valencia, conducted by Zubin Mehta. The concerts begin in the early afternoon and end late on Saturday and continue until Monday – the Asomaton square, Syntagma, Klavtmonos and Technopolis.

A total of 136 concerts of groups from France, Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, and England will flood Greece with their sounds for three days. The Frenc Le Ρeuple De l'Ηerbe (Kodziya Square on Monday) presented as hip-hoppers, the 24-year old Fallulah from Denmark that makes pop music with a specific northern sound, the exciting Swiss Κingdom of Lord Οwl, which will perform in Thessaloniki are part of the proposals. We will hear French hip-hop in the performance of the Belgian Μasta Ρι while Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Ρip, which are known for their strong live performances, will present British funk. Big names from abroad will not take part this year, but the music festival is full of fresh “blood” and sheds light on Greek artists.

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday dj's take over the city and all kinds of groovy tune will become the summer soundtrack of Athens. Asomaton Square, Square St Irini, but in bar Bacaro, Closer, Yoga Bala, Higgs, Fantaseed, Six D.O.G.S, in front of the old Parliament you will hear Niko Patrelaki, Olga Kouklaki, Dj Kyros, Blend aka Mishkin, Mr.Soundproof, Urban Disco.

Besides the music festival get ready for the summer rock festivals and concerts. Today is the concert of Billy Idol and the rockers The Stranglers. Then on Friday, June 24, at the Malakasa Stadium is the performance of the great metal four METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX in the frameworks of Sonisphere Festival.  

Hurry to get a ticket for the concert of the great Rammstein on June 28 – the group known for its most phantasmagorical shows during concerts. On July 4 the loving soft voice of the hottest jazz singer Diana Kroll will touch the hearts of the eternal romantics. On Wednesday, 7 July, Black Eyed Peas, Faithless, Aviv Geffen, K. BHTA and Transistor will perform on the stage of Rockwave Festival.

The program on July 10 includes concerts of old favourites like Fatboy Slim, The Ting Tings, DJ Shadow, White Lies and Garcia Plays Kyuss again within the Rockwave Festival. In the last day of the festival - July 11, we once again will enjoy the incredible sound of Massive Attack, the energy of SKA - P and Gogol Bordello, the great Yannis Agelakas and the London punk-funk-hip-hop-latin band Peyoti for President.
