Swimmers of the country measure swords on the island of Corfu

238 swimmers from 43 sports clubs in the country participate in this year's Championships of Greece in swimming for men and women, held on the island of Corfu. The championship of the country is also the last chance for athletes to achieve good results with which to qualify for the European Championships in swimming for men and women in Budapest. In the competitions are taking part swimmers of Olympiakos, although the club has not yet paid the money it ows them. Due to financial problems, however, Yannis Yanulis will not attend the competition and the swimmers Ada and Lena Kosti will not participate due to injuries.

As each year now again the constant winner in the Greek swimming Olympiakos has great hopes for a first place. This year however in the league there is another very strong candidate for the gold among the men. This is the team of Ethnikos.

During the first day first place in the finals in the men's 100m. backstroke Aris Grigoriadis took from Aris. With a result of 54.60 he qualified for the European championship in Budapest. The 18-year-old swimmer Lisistrati Halkida also performed very well. She took first place in 50m. breaststroke with a time of 32.22. With this result she broke the record of Greece for girls from 2009. In the finals of the 200m. butterfly Konstantinos Markozis was brilliantly presented who with a time of 1.59.71 managed to qualify for the European Championship for boys and girls.

On Saturday, 05/08 are carried out the qualifications for the finals and finals for men and women: 50m. butterfly, 200m. freestyle, 400 meters individual combined style, 200m. backstroke, 100m. breaststroke, 800m. freestyle, 4x100m. freestyle.

On Sunday, 09/05 are carried out the qualifications for the finals and the finals in: 50m. backstroke, 100m. freestyle, 200m. breaststroke, 100m. butterfly, 1.500 meters freestyle, 4x100m. block combined style.
