The famous worldwide group Tango Por Todos will be visiting Megaro Mousikis in Athens on December 3, 4 and 5. Miguel Angel Zotto is simultaneously the solo dancer and choreographer of Tango Por Todos and he will present to the Athenian public a two hour show called Es Buenos Aires Tango.
Tango Por Todos was founded by Miguel Angel Zotto and his partner Milena Plebs in 1988. Though, both of their love for tango dates earlier, when in Buenos Aires they mark one of their biggest successes in the art of dance. This was the Tango Argentino, with which they won over the hearts of the public and which sets the beginning of their first 4 year world tour.
The recognition of the public does not take long. Later on the duo works with artists and composers like Piazzolla and Ferrer and also takes part in the tango movie, filmed by National Geographic Society. Though, the real fame is brought by the show Perfumes De Tango, in which except for being dancers Miguel Angel Zotto and Milena Plebs are also directors and choreographers.
The dance of passion and love, attraction and rejection, which takes over everybody with its strength and often with its contradiction of emotions, has travelled a long road until it receives today’s recognition. When the dance appears at the end of the 19 century, the higher class believed it to be extremely provocative. This is the reason why this dance was limited to the “dark corners” of Buenos Aires. With time the restless and passionate tango rhythm make its way, winning over the hearts of all Argentina.
Today, around the world the Argentinean tango is without a doubt an art.
