A photographic exhibition entitled "Three photographers, three stories of Thessaloniki" by photographers Tania Kamidou, Kostis Argiriadis and Lily Zoumpouli was inaugurated in the exhibition hall of the bookstore of the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece (MIET) at 11 Tsimiski Street.
The works of the three photographers will be presented successively for two weeks each. The exhibition began with the works of Tania Kamidou the presentation of which will end on 7 May. Kostis Argiriadis will be presented from 9 May to 21 May and Lily Zoumpouli’s exhibition will take place from 23 May to 4 June.
The catalogues accompanying the exhibition were made by Agra publishing house, in cooperation with Stratos Kalafatis’s Studiotessera. The three exceptionally talented young photographers from Thessaloniki are presented in three different catalogues. The photographic stories are very different from each other, and boast great courage and uncensored freedom in terms of sexuality, trauma and feelings which are difficult to express. The three photographers are at the forefront of the international dialogue on contemporary photography.
In times of crisis, Agra publishing house offers a catalogue in the form of a newspaper, unlike previously known photographic albums with luxury paper and binding. It offers a design, according to which the size of pictures is doubled and savings of materials contribute to the photographic argument. This is a groundbreaking cheap-art proposal in the field of photographic edition on the occasion of the work of the three cutting-edge young artists.
