Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan are going to visit Greece at the end of January to present the world premiere of their movie „Ρercy Jackson & the Οlympians: Τhe Lightning Τhief”. They star in the movie which will come out under the name „The Lightning Thief”. As the title shows we expect to see a funny adventure movie which in its way will interpret the Greek mythology. Uma Thurman is playing the part of Medusa and Pierce Brosnan plays the part of the wise centaur Hiron. We will also see staring Logan Lerman.
It is the 21st century and the Olympic Gods and the scary monsters are coming out of the mythology book of student Percy Jackson and rushing into his life. But they are angry now: the Lightning of Zeus is stolen and Percy is the main suspect. Even more terrifying is the sudden disappearance of Percy’s mother. Percy finds himself stuck between the anger and battles of the Gods, however he and his friends decide to find the real thief of the lightning and save his mother. Meanwhile they reveal long forgotten secrets stronger than the Gods themselves.
For the production of the movie is taking care Chris Colombos who is know to us from the movies “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” and also “Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets” and the script of “The Lightning Thief” is inspired by the Rick Riordan novel “The Lightning Thief”.
Besides the great Hollywood stars many journalists from worldwide media like ΒΒC, CΝΝ, RΑΙ, ΤVΕ, ΖΤΕ, SΚΥ, FΟΧ as well as Spanish media will also come for the premiere of the movie in Greece. They will make the introduction to their reportages with a small commercial movies shot at famous archeological sites in Athens. The Stoa of Attalos, the Philopappou Hill and the temple of Zeus will turn into a very appropriate background for the shows of the international journalists who will talk about “The Lightning Thief”.
The premiere of the movie will be in a room in the Dionysus restaurant behind the Acropolis especially arranged for the event. The company responsible for the organization of the event has taken the necessary licenses from the Central archeological committee upon the agreement of 15 000 Euro for the usage of the archeological sites – 5000 Euro each site.
