Greece’s Minister of Finance Yanis Varoufakis proposes to convene an international conference on the Greek debt. The proposal will be discussed at his meeting with President of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem tomorrow. The aim of the conference is to find a solution to the Greek debt, which will be as painless as possible for European taxpayers, and the European Central Bank will play a key role in it.
On Sunday, Varoufakis will be in London to meet with his British counterpart George Osborne, and on Monday, he will visit Paris and his French counterpart Michel Sapin. On Tuesday, the Minister of Finance will visit Rome to meet with his Italian counterpart Pier Carlo Padoan. The Ministry of Finance states that, so far, it has established no contact with a representative of the German government or with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.
