Maroussi won against the team of Aris with 75:67 in a game played in Athens. The hosts scored their eight victory in a row in the 13th round of A1 and qualified at the third place in number of points after the teams of Olympiakos and Panathinaikos. The game which Maroussi and Aris showed was dynamic and interesting, with dramatic moments when the result was evened and was prompted the crowd gathered in the Agios Thomas Basketball Hall in Maroussi to shout and chant slogans. The first half started with the spectacular points scored on the part of the hosts by Homan Jared and Lucas Jamon. The guests did not remain in debt to Maroussi and quickly started attacks the most spectacular of which were those of Clark Kiki. The player was managing in a very shifty manner to cheat the strong defence of the opponent and make his way to the basket creating headaches for the hosts…. The points scored by Clark managed to even the score and for a moment the guests were even leading in the game. (Clark passed the ball to Barlos twice in a row and he scored points while by shooting from the 3 points zone Clark managed to take the lead in the score by 18:21). A dramatic fight started for evening the score on the part of the hosts – Milosevits and Nadjfeji scored points and so the hosts gained the lead by 26:21. The first half ended with a score of 44:32 for Maroussi.
In the second half the hosts almost didn’t retreat from the opponent’s basket. They were the ones who were leading the game and until the end they managed to preserve their lead intact. Despite of the fact that the guests did their best to fight back until the very end they did not mange to even the difference in the score of 8 points lead of the host team Maroussi. In the second half Clark Kiki didn’t give up scaring the opponent’s team with his fast and unforeseeable passes of the ball.
Clark organized a fantastic play with the ball which ended with a pass to Betts, but even his own team mate could not keep up with his impressive speed – the ball ended up in his hands, however Betts didn’t seem to understand this and clumsily dropped it…
