According to the new bill of the Minister of economics Luca Katseli, companies will be opened in Greece only for a day with a common administrative certificate and for only one third of the current price. According to the Prime Minister George Papandreou this bill is one of the most important changes in the Program for development which aim at eliminating the bureaucratic drawbacks, to revive the competition and to help for the development of the economy.

The advantages of the new bill are great: the time which is necessary for creating a company is currently three months and it is now decreased to just one day, each year about 4 billion euro will be saved which are now paid “under the table” or for some heavy procedures, the “bureaucratic price” which each person concerned will save is about 1 300 euro and besides this a big “corruption core” will be eliminated. It is indicative the fact that after the introduction of the new measures the index “ease of starting a business” dropped from 140th to 44^th place and the position of the country moves up from 109^th to 90^th place.

According to the bill services will be created called “one stop shop” where everybody who wishes to open a company and file all the necessary documents will have to go. In this way many trips will be saved from one counter to another and from one service to another. As similar services will also operate: for the creation of partnerships and limited joint-stock companies will serve all the branches of the commercial chambers, for the limited liability companies and the joint-stock companies will be responsible the notaries, announces a covering of the Vima newspaper.

All the services which act as “one stop shop” are obliged to execute everything in accordance with the law and to provide a legal entity to the companies for a term of one day and issue a tax number for the newly created companies. In case that one of the partners does not have a social security they have to take care of this and sign them up in the respective pension security service.
