Despite the intensified anti-European rhetoric over the past month, 43% of Greeks believe that the main partner of Greece is the European Union, as shown by the results of a poll conducted by the polling agency Public Issue.
Second on the list of potential partners of Athens is "no one" with 27%, whereas Russia ranks third with 13% of the votes, followed by the USA with 4%, China 3% and other/no opinion with 10%.
61% of respondents have a positive opinion of the European Union, 36% negative and 3% have no opinion of it. At the same time, 68% have a positive opinion of Russia, 21% a negative one and 11% of respondents have no opinion of it.
The poll was conducted in the period 12-17 February 2015 by telephone among 1,008 citizens aged over 18 years and entitled to vote, at the expense of the Sunday edition of the left-oriented newspaper Avgi.
